Terranean Pita Chip Apple Crisp

Ingredients:
Apple Filling:

4-5 Honeycrisp apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 tablespoon lemon zest

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon granulated sugar

Topping:

1 cup Terranean Cinnamon Pita Chips, blended into fine crumbs

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature (for a crumblier texture)


Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Apples:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

    • In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with cinnamon, lemon zest, lemon juice, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until well coated.

  2. Make the Topping:

    • In a separate bowl, combine the Terranean Cinnamon Pita Chip crumbs, flour, brown sugar, and butter. Use your hands or a fork to work the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture becomes crumbly.

  3. Assemble the Crisp:

    • Spread the apple mixture evenly into a baking dish.

    • Sprinkle the crumb topping over the apples, pressing down slightly to ensure it sticks.

  4. Bake:

    • Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.

  5. Serve and Enjoy:

    • Let the crisp cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
