As a Lebanese-American, Tina grew up enjoying authentic Lebanese za’atar and pita chips when visiting her parents’ village in Lebanon. She looked forward to the earthy, herbal, savory and uniquely delicious flavor of freshly baked za’atar manaeesh (flatbread) and pita chips every morning.

Like many other Middle Easterners, her family would fill their suitcases with za’atar every trip back home, for themselves and for friends who couldn’t make it abroad that year. “Our clothing would smell like za’atar for weeks!"

In 2019, Tina noticed local restaurants in Cleveland using za’atar, and an increased interest in its flavor. However, she could not find the same premium, real za’atar she enjoyed growing up at local markets or online.

In 2020, she launched Terranean to share these same memorable flavors and experiences with her community and consumers, starting with the za’atar seasoning shaker, the za’atar olive oil spread, and expanding to her award-winning pita chips.
